Reserve bands to perform in Delaware, Maryland

Three musical groups from the Air Force Reserve Band are scheduled to play a series of concerts throughout Delaware and Maryland Oct. 19 to 21. 

The groups include Full Spectrum Jazz, a 13-piece big-band style group, Southern Aire, a six-member group who wear traditional Scottish regalia and perform Celtic rock and traditional pipe music, and Woodwind Quintet, which performs light classics, patriotic and classical music. 

"The goal of the performances by these talented musicians is to raise awareness of the Air Force Reserve, support recruiting efforts and thank the community for their outstanding support of the 512th Airlift Wing and Dover Air Force Base," said. Col. David H. Wuest, 512th AW vice commander. 

"We're very pleased with the variety of performances that have been scheduled," added Colonel Wuest. "The support we have received from the community has been outstanding." 

The schedules for the three musical groups include: 

Oct. 19
· Woodwind Quintet music workshop at 11 a.m. at Delaware State University, Dover. (Students only)
· Full Spectrum Jazz at 12:45 p.m. at the Modern Maturity Center, Dover. (Open to the public) 

Oct. 20
· Woodwind Quintet music workshop at Salesianum School, Wilmington. (Students only)
· Southern Aire at 12:30 p.m. at the Milford Senior Center, Milford. (Open to the public)
· Full Spectrum Jazz at 7 p.m. at the Schwartz Center, Dover. (Open to the public) 

Oct. 21
· Full Spectrum Jazz at 11 a.m. at the Wicomico County Annual Autumn Wine Festival at Pemberton Park, Salisbury, Md. (Open to the public)
· Southern Aire at the Diamond State Championship Barbecue at Dover Downs. Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a special performance of the national anthem and two performances during the event. (Open to the public)
· Woodwind Quintet at 7 p.m. at the Calvary Assembly of God, Dover. (Open to the public) 

The concert at the Schwartz Center features a special performance dedicated to military members and their families, Delaware State University personnel and local civic leaders.
