SPMAGTF-SC, JTF-Bravo disaster relief in Haiti enabled by logistics, ‘Rapid Global Mobility’

Members of Joint Task Force-Bravo stage equipment at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, Oct. 6, 2016, prior to loading onto an aircraft headed to Haiti to support the ongoing Hurricane Matthew disaster relief efforts. At the request of U.S. Southern Command, U.S. Transportation Command directed C-17 Globemaster III and C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft to Soto Cano AB to move critical supplies and personnel to Haiti needed to sustain helicopter flight operations being conducted by Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Southern Command and Joint Task Force-Bravo’s 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment using two CH-53E Super Stallions, three CH-47 Chinooks, and two UH-60L and two HH-60L Black Hawks in support of the U.S. Agency for International Development-led mission to alleviate human suffering and bolster Haitian disaster response capabilities.
