Air Force reservist wins engineering award

Senior Master Sgt. David Orie (holding certificate) from the 512th Airlift Wing's geographically separated unit, the 71st Aerial Port Squadron at Joint Base Eustis Langley, Va., was honored by Huntington Ingalls Industries, America's largest military shipbuilding company, as a Black Engineer of the Year Award winner during a ceremony Feb. 7, 2015, in Washington D.C. The Black Engineer of the Year Award recognizes pioneers who have achieved exceptional career gains in government and industry, and who have energized their companies and their communities alike, according to the BEYA website.
