Pope Air Force Base team dominates ruck march

A 14th Air Support Operations Squadron Tactical Air Control Party team from Pope Air Force Base, N.C., took first place at the Dover Air Force Base 10th Annual Ruck March Feb. 21. Team members Capt. Steve McNamara, Airman Benjamin Hutchins, Tech. Sgt. Mitchell Polu, and Airman 1st Class James Demars finished the march in 55 minutes, 29 seconds. The event is sponsored annually by the 436th Security Forces Squadron. Each member of the four-person team must complete the 6.2-mile course while carrying a 30-pound sack on their back.
