Tech. Sgt. Stephen J. Kaufman (front), a reservist with the 512th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal Flight team leader at Dover Air Force Base, Del., is on patrol heading to a suspected improvised explosive device in southern Afghanistan. Sergeant Kaufman deployed to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, from September 2009 to March 2010 to provide EOD support to United Kingdom, Danish and Estonian forces in clearing insurgent cells throughout Kandahar, Helmand and Zabul provinces.
