The Air Force Association Reserve Council is seeking volunteers to fill its four-member panel. The Reserve Council develops legislative and policy recommendations to the AFA on quality of life, equipment modernization, military construction and others issues which impact the Air Force Reserve Command and assigned reservists.

Selectees are required to serve a two-year term and attend all meetings. Three meetings are held each year/cycle which are September, November, and February. Council Members are required to solicit information/issues of concern from their constituency (fellow reservists) for submission and discussion at each of the council meetings. The information/issues may be, but are not limited to, items such as pay and benefits, training, family care, etc. These meetings are held in conjunction with AFA symposiums. All temporary duty assignments for meeting attendance are unit/organization funded. All Air Force Specialty Codes will be considered.

Traditional Reservist, Air Reserve Technicians, and Active Guard and Reserve member applications must receive the endorsement of their wing commander or equivalent for submission. Individual Mobilization Augmentees must route their applications through their program managers to the Readiness Management Group commander for endorsement. Applications must indicate the individual is applying for the AFA Reserve Council and will include the following documents:
- Letter of endorsement from the wing commander or equivalent with the following statement: "I understand the unit of assignment is responsible for funding all four required council member TDYs."
- Letter from applicant (any format) stating what they view as the importance of council membership and what they hope to accomplish.
- Last five OPRs/EPRs or signed justification when reports are not available.
- Current Report on Individual Personnel
- Full-length photograph in service dress, three-quarter turn pose, color or black and white is acceptable.
- Fitness assessment report.

Send applications through the wing commander's front office via Capt. Jason Lowrey ( jason.lowrey@us.af.mil )

Applicants will be notified of their selection or non-selection via email no later than July 15, to allow preparation time before the council kicks off in September.
