NSPS begins next conversion

Dover Air Force Base is one of 24 bases that has employees converting to the National Security Personnel System from October 2006 through January 2007. 

The Department of the Air Force has announced it will convert approximately 37,000 employees to the human resources portion of NSPS. Civilians from organizations across the Air Force, including overseas locations, are included in this group, known as Spiral 1.2. 

Two target dates have been established for AF: 11,000 employees will convert to NSPS in October; the second group of 26,000 employees will convert in Jan. 2007. Splitting implementation into two time frames will ensure managers and employees are able to receive training on the new pay and personnel rules. 

The first group, dubbed Spiral 1.2B (indicating the second pay period in the conversion period), converts Oct. 15 and includes non-bargaining unit positions at the following bases:

Charleston AFB, S.C.
Columbus AFB, Miss.
Davis-Monthan AFB, Ariz.
Dover AFB, Del.
Dyess AFB, Texas
Eglin AFB, Fla.
Ellsworth AFB, S.D.
F.E. Warren AFB, Wyo.
Goodfellow AFB, Texas
Kirtland AFB, N.M.
Lackland AFB, Texas
Laughlin AFB, Texas
Malmstrom AFB, Mont.
March ARB, Calif.
McConnell AFB, Kan.
McGuire AFB, N.J.
Offutt AFB, Neb.
Patrick AFB, Fla.
Peterson AFB, Colo.
Seymour-Johnson AFB, N.C.
Scott AFB, Ill.

Also affected are elements of HQ AF, 11th Wing, WWS, AF Real Property Agency and AFPOA.
