Maj. Josh Redden of the 512th Operations Group softball team was a force to be reckoned as he helped the Liberty Wing edge out 436th Logistics Readiness Squadron to win 16-15 June 13 at the baseball field here.

The 436th LRS started off strong, passing four runners around the bases. The
512th OG romped ahead, sending six of its players over the diamond in the bottom of the first inning.

Heather Semo, wife of Lt. Col. Mike Semo, whose rocket arm, along with the Liberty Wing's field-hustle humbled the 436th LRS in the top of the second inning, allowing no players to score. The bottom of the second inning ushered in the 512th OG staying on the mark with four runners crossing the diamond.

The 512th OG stammered through the third inning with no RBIs and handed over two runs to the 436th LRS, bringing the score to 10-6 at the bottom of the third.

The 436th LRS slipped six runners past catcher Staff Sgt. Desi Downey of the 512th OG in the top of the fourth, putting the heat on the 512th OG to make the score 12-10 with the 436th LRS on top. The 512th OG cooled the LRS fire with Redden ripping in runners to end the inning 16-12 at the bottom of the fourth inning.

The 436th LRS clawed themselves closer to the 512th OG in the top of the fifth inning thanks to the blazing-bat of Airman Gabriel Jimenez and three more players waltzing home; it wasn't enough to touch the red-hot defense of the 512th OG outfield.

According to Lt. Col .Jeffrey Wickersham of the 512th OG team, the forward thinking and tactical decisions made by Maj. Christian Parrish, the 512th OG assistant coach, was directly responsible for the victory. The Liberty Wing players finished the game clipping LRS 16-15 in five innings.
