Dover AFB promotes financial readiness during Military Saves Week

In conjunction with the Department of Defense's Military Saves program, Dover Air Force Base will be conducting numerous seminars to promote personal financial readiness among military families during Military Saves Week, Feb. 22 through March 1. 

Classes will range in topic from retirement readiness to income tax refunds and are slated to be held in building 263, first floor conference room. 

"The cornerstone of the Military Saves campaign is Military Saves week," said Arthur J. Myers, a member of the Senior Executive Service and Director of Air Force Services, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C. "Throughout the week emphasis will be placed on financial readiness and the principles of building wealth through automatic savings." 

The financial education seminar schedule is as follows:
- Feb. 23, Financial Wellness, 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Feb. 24, Retire Ready, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Feb. 25, Preserving Your Home: Foreclosure Prevention, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
- Feb. 26, What to do with Your Income Tax Refund, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Feb. 27, Budgeting and Saving, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- March 7, Building Wealth, Not Debt, 10:00am to 11:00 p.m. 

"This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more from the experts," said Master Sgt. Laura Coseglia, 512th Airman and Family Readiness Center chief. "A seminar will be held during the March [unit training assembly] to allow Reserve families an opportunity to attend as well."
