Combined Federal Campaign begins Oct. 19 Published Oct. 15, 2009 By Capt. Marnee A.C. Losurdo 512th Airlift Wing Public Affairs DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- The Dover Air Force Base 2009 Combined Federal Campaign is Oct. 19 to Dec. 11. To kick off the campaign, the base is hosting an agency fair and will feature guest speakers from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Landings. The Liberty Wing goal is to give all wing members an opportunity to donate to the campaign with the hopes of raising $13,000, said Capt. Alicia Warren, 512th Maintenance Support Group executive officer and CFC coordinator for the wing. The Team Dover goal is $160,000, a 6 percent increase from last year's campaign. CFC is the world's largest workplace charity campaign that raises millions of dollars each year for national and international charities. "Not only does CFC give wing members an opportunity to donate to eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world, but they get to choose the organization that they would like to donate to that is important to them," said Captain Warren. Also, CFC lets people know how much of charities' donations are allocated towards administrative costs and what percentage goes towards helping people, said Captain Warren. People can contribute cash, check or money order, with all CFC contributions being tax deductible. To obtain a CFC booklet of eligible charitable organizations, a contribution form or more information on the campaign, contact one of the following CFC representatives. 512th Airlift Wing Staff Agencies, Capt.
