Liberty Wing reservists have the opportunity to recognize their supportive employers by nominating them for the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.

This award is the highest recognition given by the U.S. Government to employers for their outstanding support of their employees who serve in the Reserve and National Guard.

"If you believe your employer has provided outstanding support of your military service, please consider nominating them," said Senior Master Sgt. Rachael Gonesh, the 512th Airlift Wing Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve military outreach coordinator.
"Reservists and their families are eligible and encouraged to nominate supportive employers."

This award was instituted in 1996 and is sponsored by the National Committee for ESGR.

ESGR is a Department of Defense organization established to recognize outstanding employer support, increase awareness of the law, and resolve conflicts between reservists and employers through mediation, said Sergeant Gonesh.

Wing members can nominate their employers at www.FreedomAward.mil until Jan. 18.
