Dover goes high-tech with health fair Published Nov. 18, 2009 By Courtesy of the 436th Force Support Squadron DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- The Dover Air Force Base Health Fair has gone high-tech and will be done exclusively online and is currently holding an open season until Dec. 14. "By having an electronic Health Fair, we can give employees more information with more details and actual websites with links for quick look up," said Linda Fibelkorn, 436th Force Support Squadron human resource assistant. During the open season, civilian employees may enroll, change plans or options, change to self-and-family or self-only, or cancel coverage online. "If you are considering cancelling your coverage, keep in mind that cancellation of your Federal Employees Health Benefits coverage may affect your ability to meet the 5-year requirement for continuing FEHB into retirement," said Mrs. Fibelkorn. The Federal Employees' Group Life Insurance Program and the Federal Long Term Care Insurance Program are not participating in this year's Federal Benefits Open Season. Coventry Health Care has terminated enrollment codes in the state of Delaware. Anyone who does not change health plans by making a positive election into another FEHB plan during Open Season will not have Health Benefits for 2010. Changes can be made through the Employees Benefits Information System and by calling 1-800-525-0102 option 2 or the Air Force Portal ( https://www.my.af.mil) or the Air Force Personnel Center secure website (https://w20.afpc.randolph.af.mil/AFPCSecurenet20). "To increase customer support to Air Force civilian employees and applicants around the world, the Total Force Service Center has expanded the hours civilian personnel experts are available to discuss employment, benefits and entitlements," said Mrs. Fibelkorn. While service delivery representatives are still available to answer general questions 24 hours a day, representatives with expertise in civilian matters are now available Sunday from 3 p.m. - 11 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. - 11 p.m., and Friday from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. All hours are Central Time. The TFSC is still available 24 hours a day for all general personnel inquires. Current civilian employees can access civilian information by calling the TFSC at 800-525-0102, press 2 for civilian employees and follow the prompts. Hearing impaired employees who have access to a Telephone Device for the Deaf should call the toll-free TDD number, 800-382-0893, or commercial 565-2276 if calling within San Antonio.
