Tops In Blue 2009 rock the stage in Dover

Tops In Blue performed for a packed house at the Delaware State University Education and Humanities Center Nov. 17.

Tops In Blue, known as the Air Force's premiere performing group, presented the 2009 edition of the Tops In Blue show, entitled 'To Dream.'

The show consisted of 26 songs about dreams, love, in addition to travelling, and patriotic music .

"It's very exciting to be performing in Dover, because it is one of the few states we haven't visited yet," said Senior Airman Demetrius 'Chance' Johnson, Tops In Blue performer. "It's truly a blessing to be able to bring our show here and I hope our audience enjoyed the show."

The Tops In Blue team travels to Air Force bases around the world will perform at approximately 54 locations after leaving Dover.

The 2009 Tops In Blue team will visit more than 120 locations in the U.S. and 25 countries during 2009-2010, encouraging their audience 'to dream.'

"Performing for military members in the deployed desert locations is one of my most memorable moments because it's like we're giving them a taste of America and what they're missing back home," said Senior Airman Victoria Howard, a Tops In Blue musician who plays the trombone.

For Tech. Sgt. Alison Bruce-Maldonado, a Tops In Blue performer, she's now living her 'dream.'

"When I first saw Tops In Blue perform, I said to myself - that is what I want to do," said Sergeant Bruce-Maldonado.

After joining the Air National Guard, the sergeant pursued her dream of being a Tops In Blue member.

"I guess you can say this has been an 18-year pursuit that I've chased after to be in Tops In Blue," she said.
