The Base Library is hosting a free Book Give-Away event April 12-17 during normal library hours, or as long as supplies last.

Team Dover members and Department of Defense ID card holders of all ages are welcome to donate and pick up books at no charge.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for people to pick up free books," said Ella Dudley, 436th Force Support Squadron Base Library aide. "Many people enjoy this annual event, they have asked about it and they look forward to it."

The table isn't limited to books, anyone is able to donate books, video and cassette tapes, CDs, DVDs and magazines.

"This event gives people a chance to save money and there is no limit on how many items one can take," said Richard Krueger, 436th FSS Base Library director. "You might pick up something interesting, rare or valuable."

The Book Give-Away table has an ample amount of children's books, paperbacks, hard covers, both fiction and non-fiction and more.

"There is generally something for everybody and the books are in good condition," said Ms. Dudley. "Books are expensive these days, and for me personally, I think it's a great experience discovering new authors.

"Last year, the event was very popular and by the end, there were no books left," she said.

Though the Base Library receives many donations, it is up to the Library's discretion as to what items and materials are kept for public use or put on the give-away table.

"We appreciate all the donations we receive and we hope to provide everyone with the book they're looking for at our Base Library," said Mr. Krueger.
