Non-appropriated funds jobs were being placed online June 1 to allow applicants to apply via the internet.

This new system allows applicants to apply for multiple positions while only filling out one online application, cutting down paper usage and allowing some civilians who don't have base access a better chance to apply.

"The old paper application is about six pages long," said Kia Lockett, 436th Force Support Squadron human resources specialist. "This new system saves paper by limiting the number of applications we have to print out for the selection of a job. The applicant applies online, the manager looks over the qualified applications and selects the ones they want to hire, prints them out and hands them over to us so we can start the process of hiring."

Before this program, applicants would fill out a new paper application for every position for which they wanted to apply for. With this new program applicants can apply to as many positions as they would like, using their original application.

"In fact the timing of this switch is very beneficial," said Ms. Lockett. "With summer coming up we're going to see a lot more seasonal positions open, so this will streamline the process a bit and make it easier on our applicants as they apply for positions."

Now applicants will have a username and password on the website, which will allow them to save their application permanently. Under the old system, the paper applications were removed from the system every 90 days. The website also allows applicants to attach resumes and other documentation to the application.

"I think we're going to see a lot more applications with this program," said Candy Osmundson, 436th FSS human resources assistant. "It's a very user friendly system, easy to set up and operate, and available from any computer attached to the internet. We're in the process of placing all the current job openings up into the system now."
