Children of 512th Airlift Wing reservists will get the opportunity to see how their moms and dads prepare for deployments, at 9 a.m. on June 25 at the base youth center here.

A children's mobility line will be set up for children of military members.

"It should be fun and educational at the same time," said Laura Coseglia, 512th AW Airman and Family Readiness director.

Deployments can be tough on families and reservists. The Children's Mobility line eases the stressors families may experience during deployments by connecting families to local resources and to each other, said Ms. Coseglia.

The base has been running the children's deployment line for a few years now.

"Last year was a great turnout," said Tech. Sgt. Stacy Boos, 436th Airman and Family Readiness. "We had about 300 participants, and we're expecting around the same amount this year."

Not only is Sergeant Boos one of the coordinators for this year's mobility line, but her daughter will be a participant.

"I've deployed many times," she said. "Every time I prepare for one, she asks me what I'm doing and where I'm going. I think it'll be good for her to finally have an understanding of what Mommy's doing."

In addition to the line, the event will also have demonstrations and displays from security forces, the fire department, explosive ordnance disposal and logistics readiness from both the 512th and 436th Airlift Wings.

Additional tables will be manned by community and base partners, such as the American Red Cross, Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, and Operation Military Kids, said Ms. Coseglia.

This event is open to all military families. For more information or to register, call the Airman and Family Readiness Center at (302) 677-6930.
