Wing salutes employers with special day

The 512th Airlift Wing hosted its annual Employer Appreciation Day Saturday to recognize the support provided by those who hire Air Force reservists.

The unit welcomed 23 employers and four representatives from Delaware's Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve program to the base.

After hearing from Commander Col. Raymond A. Kozak about the wing mission, the guests toured Dover's C-5 Galaxy isochronal inspection hangar and visited the base's military working dog facility before taking a flight aboard a C-17 Globemaster III.

ESGR is a Department of Defense agency with a mission to promote a culture in which employers support and value the military service of their employees by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding employer support, increasing awareness of the law and resolving conflicts through mediation.

ESGR representatives will return to the base Wednesday to learn more about the mission of the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operation and tour a C-17 on the flight line before having a banquet dinner at The Landings club.
