Weather-Related Liberal Reschedule for Sep UTA

Liberty Wing Members,

As Murphy’s Law would have it, after several months of extensive planning for a September UTA packed full of critical training, exciting family day events and a Team Dover Air Force Ball, good old Mother Nature has produced a plan of her own.  Hurricane Florence, a dangerous category 4 hurricane, is swiftly advancing towards the Carolinas. The exact path of Florence, as well as the reach of her destructive forces up the East Coast, still remains uncertain.

Here at Dover, we continue to assess how Florence will impact the base; however, many questions still remain unanswered due to the unpredictable path of this dangerous storm. As the leadership teams here at Dover continue to assess local conditions and courses of action, I need each of you to assess your situation to ensure your personal safety and the safety of your families. If you determine you won’t be able to attend the September UTA due to the impending weather, I’m authorizing a liberal reschedule policy once coordinated through your respective chain of command and cancellation of any reserved lodging.

Thanks for all you do for Team Dover and our nation,

 Stay Safe!
