Col. D. Scott Durham, commander of the 512th Airlift Wing, Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, has been selected to take command of the 439th Airlift Wing, Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts.
Durham is a command pilot with more than 5,000 flight hours. Since August 2015, he has commanded the Liberty Wing, a 1,700-person organization, which supports Air Mobility Command’s worldwide airlift mission, operating C-5 and C-17 aircraft.
"The team work here is unparalleled in my experience thus far,” said Durham. “From the 436th (Airlift Wing) to the local Dover community, this place is special. All of the success we have enjoyed here is built on this very solid foundation. The 512th is an organization of patriotic well trained and motivated civilians and Reservist.
“Every day, day in and day out they come here and do the hard work for the defense of our nation. Jennifer and I will truly miss Dover and our little community in Magnolia. We thank you for letting our family call this place home over the last few years. It really has been great!"
