DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- Tech. Sgt. Eric Staniland, 709th Airlift Squadron flight engineer and a member of the 512th Acceptance Check Flight, observes the C-5 Galaxy elavator, which controls the up and down movement of the aircraft, as part of a pre-flight check. The C-5 Galaxy from Westover Air Reserve Base, Mass., received a modernized glass cockpit and avionics upgrade as part of the Avionics Modernization Program. Dover Air Force Base, Del., and Travis Air Force Base, Calif., are overseeing the AMP modifications of all the Air Force Reserve Command C-5s and will manage the rest of the C-5 fleet's conversion through 2015.
