Mark Shortt, a supply technician with the Air Force Reserve's 512th Civil Engineer Squadron at Dover Air Force Base, Del., underwent a kidney transplant at John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Md., Sept. 22. In 2006, he?d contracted a viral antibody, which attacked both his kidneys leading to their failure in August 2007.
