New commander for 512th Operations Group
DOVER AIR FORCE BASE, Del. -- From left to right is 512th Airlift Wing Commander Col. Randal L. Bright, 512th Operations Support Flight First Sergeant Master Sgt. Calvin Little, and the new 512th Operations Group Commander Col. Karl A. Schmitkons. Colonel Schmitkons assumed command of the Air Force Reserve's 512th OG in a ceremony March 8 at 10:30 at the Landings. Colonel Schmitkons is a command pilot with more than 5,600 hours in the C-130 and is scheduled to learn to fly the C-5.
