Recognizing Excellence
The 948th Security Forces Squadron may not be an actual squadron at Dover Air Force Base, Del., but the 948th Security Forces Award is a real honor bestowed upon deserving security forces Airmen. The 948th name is derived from adding the 512th and 436th prefixes together. The 512th Airlift Wing is an Air Force Reserve Command unit that works side-by-side its active duty counterpart the 436th Airlift Wing. (U.S. Air Force illustration)
