Liberty Wing ALCF overhauls trailers

Master Sgt. Henry Fortney, 512th Airlift Control Flight loadmaster, uninstalls radios for transfer into new trailers in the 512th ALCF hangar bay here April 23. To accommodate technology, the 512th ALCF received three new trailers in January as part of an Air Force Reserve Command modernization effort. Functioning as small command and control packages, the trailers are intended for 12-hour operations in austere locations. One of the remodeling changes is space optimization. The new units will have affixed radios and a mounted radio mast. Also, the new trailers boast more power with two new electrical boxes and larger generator. The previously used models will be given to other units throughout the Reserve. This project is expected to continue until July, 2010. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. James Bolinger)
