Former Flight Officer Herbert Heilbrun (left) and Tuskegee Airman Ray Williams share a moment after telling their history to over 350 airmen during the Air Force Reserve Command Human Resources Development Council conference Oct 24-27, 2010, in Atlanta. Mr. Heilbrun and John Leahr, who was unable to attend, were 21 when they fought in World War II. Mr. Heilbrun was an Army Air Forces B-17 bomber pilot and Mr. Leahr, a Tuskegee Airman, flew the P-51 fighter. The pair were reunited 50 years after their flights, only to discover that they went to school together 15 years before their military service. Mr. Williams also shared his experiences as a Tuskegee Airman. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tech Sgt. Joe Zuccaro)
