Managing Emergencies
During an exercise July 9, 2011, at Dover Air Force Base, Emergency Operations Center members, consisting of 512th and 436th Airlift Wing Airmen, collect, gather and analyze data during a simulated chemical attack. The EOC, a central command and control facility responsible for carrying out emergency management functions, provides the big picture to assist leaders in making decisions that protect life and property and maintain continuity of the organization. The exercise is preparation for the Operational Readiness Inspection both wings will undergo in December, 2011. ORIs are conducted to evaluate and measure the ability of a unit to perform in wartime, during a contingency or a force sustainment mission. (U.S. Air Force photo by Capt. Marnee A.C. Losurdo)
