512th AW Tour

Collapse All Expand All
Groups requesting a tour must complete the Tour Request Form. Requests should be submitted 30 days prior to the requested tour date and will be accommodated on a space available basis. Requests must be submitted through the 512th Airlift Wing Public Affairs Office (512aw.pa@us.af.mil) and are accepted up to six months in advance. Tours will be coordinated one month in advance and will be finalized two weeks prior to the date of tour.
Tours will begin no earlier than 8:30 a.m. and end no later than 3:30 p.m. depending upon tour schedule. Tours of Dover AFB may include any of the various organizations on base to include static displays and demonstrations. While every effort will be made to honor requests, we must work around our daily operations schedule and no particular activities can be guaranteed. A tour may be cancelled at any time, without notice due to increased security measures or unique mission requirements. There will be no substitutions for cancellations.
Due to the logistics of room capacity, parking availability, and mode of transportation, tours are limited to a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 40 participants.
All buses/vans must arrive at the Main Gate for security processing. Buses will be met at the Main Gate by a Dover AFB Tour Ambassador who will accompany the group onboard the bus and will remain with them for the duration of the tour. If a group is running late due to unforeseen circumstances it is the group's responsibility to contact our Community Relations Director, Ms. Veronica Aceveda in the Public Affairs office, at 302-677-3408 or 302-677-3485 to see if adjustments can be made to the tour itinerary. If a group does not contact the Public Affairs office and is more than 15 minutes late for their tour, the tour may be cancelled. If a tour is cancelled, it may be rescheduled for a later available date.

Cameras are allowed on the tour; however, there are some restrictions. Your tour guide will inform you of these restrictions.
There will be no Public Affairs sponsorship for overnight visits.

Honorary Commander Program

Collapse All Expand All
As an Honorary Commander, you will experience Dover AFB's dynamic mission from all angles. From meeting pilots in the cockpit of a C-5M Super Galaxy or C-17 Globemaster III, to touring the Air Force Mortuary Affairs Operations Center, Honorary Commanders are treated to the full range of operations conducted at Dover AFB. The HCC year consists of seven large events/tours: HCC Induction Ceremony, Wing Staff Agency tour, Mission Support Group tour, Maintenance Group tour, Air Force Mortuary Affairs/Armed Forces Medical Examiner System/Joint Personal Effects Depot tour, Medical Group tour, and Operations Group tour. And mission requirements permitting, you have the potential to take an "incentive flight" on a C-5M Super Galaxy or C-17A Globemaster III on a local training mission.
The Honorary Commanders Program partners the commanders of Dover AFB with some of Delaware's distinguished community and political leaders. The program encourages an exchange of ideas, experiences, and friendships between key leaders of the surrounding communities and Dover AFB. By building and strengthening community relationships, commanders and honorary commanders can positively impact their community.
Congratulations on being selected to represent your community in Dover Air Force Base's Honorary Commander Program. As an inductee, you represent the community and political leaders that make Delaware great. Follow the 512th Airlift Wing social media pages for real-time updates, information and photos. Be sure to use the hashtag "#DoverHCC" in your posts so we can follow you as well. We will enjoy spending this year with you!

Employer Support

Almost half of our nation’s military strength resides in the Reserve and National Guard. The brave men and women of the Liberty Wing play critical roles in defending our homeland and in serving around the world to ensure our freedom. All of this would not be possible without the support of  our employers.
